Providing much needed and life-changing support to families in Fife with additional support needs
Having a child with disabilities affects the whole family and not only causes worries and anxieties, it often causes loneliness, isolation, poor mental health and poverty - we're here to help.
Nourish provides holistic support to families in Fife with additional support needs. We work with other relevant organisations to raise awareness and provide better services and support. Many of our trustees, staff and volunteers are parents/carers of children with a disability, or have a disability themselves.

WE ARE PROUD TO OFFER
Our Groups & Services
We provide support to families registered with us, through a wide range of services and support groups. Many of these services are delivered from our Family Support Centre, based in Mitchelston Estate, Kirkcaldy. In order to continue reaching more families with additional support needs, and providing more support in our community, we now also have our Community Hub in the Mercat Shopping Centre. We also have our Charity Shop based in the Mercat, which raises funds to help us deliver some of our services.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Our Testimonials
Doing things as a family is hard. Having an adult son with disabilities - it’s hard to find a place to do things together where people are not judging the fact that a 26 year old man is super excited to see Santa, or kids activities. At Nourish we can do that, and no one minds. It’s a family orientated, inclusive place for all of our family to enjoy things together.

Nourish has provided me with a safe haven, and a safe place to speak about any issues I have had in my personal life. I've always felt supported and cared for. My son has also had the support from the Nourish team. At a time he felt a little lost and would never find an interest of his own Nourish was there. He is now a member of the Meeples club, which he loves. He has made like minded friends who he can interact and talk to.

Nourish has been a massive support to my family for the past few years. Providing support, food parcels, support at Xmas. Putting on relax kids sessions. My daughter has even had the experience of volunteering which massively improved her confidence and well being which I will be forever grateful.
Hi my name is Lynne, and I'm a parent of children with additional support needs.
Throughout the years myself and my family have faced many challenges, I have been that parent sitting at home feeling lonely and isolated feeling I had no one to turn to who would understand what I was going through. My children have had their own battles to face too, either having a disability, or having a sibling with a disability, both bring challenges.
I founded Nourish in 2011 with 4 other parents who felt there was a lack of support for families who had children with additional support needs in the Kirkcaldy area.
When you have accessed our nomination form you will find a list of Appreciation Awards, please put forward as many team members as you wish for the award, or awards which you feel are the most appropriate. If you would like to add what they did for you or your family, it would be great to hear examples of the fantastic work they do!
But voting for them is the most important, so just add a name, first name, nick name, or the 'lady who makes tea on Wednesdays' will suffice!
PLEASE HELP NOURISH TO RECOGNISE AND REWARD OUR TEAM BY VOTING AND SUBMITTING YOUR NOMINATIONS BEFORE THE 17TH of MAY 2024 ... See MoreSee Less

Unfortunately a decision has been made to close our Family Support Centre this week due to staff illness.
Our priority is keeping the centre safe and germ free and protecting our service users and staff. All activities will resume next Monday. Apologies for the short notice and loss of service.
Food support and all other services running from The Community Hub are not affected and will run as normal.
